2019 Maryland 1A + 2A Semifinal Recaps

The matchups are set for Saturday's 1A, 1A finals.

Lake Clifton, Southern Garrett, Patterson And Wicomico Advance.

1A: LAKE CLIFTON 58, FREDERICK DOUGLASS-PG 56

Jermaine Tiggle made two free throws with 21 seconds remaining to give the Lakers the lead and they survived an Eagles jumper in the final seconds to move on.

It is the second straight title game appearance for Lake Clifton, which won the 2A championship last year before moving to 1A.

2019 forward Armon Harried had 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead Lake and Michael Gray finished with 21.

2019 guard Kaylen Vines had 16 points to lead Douglass, while Darnell Snowden had 13, and Abdul Samb and Mikhai Arnold 11.

1A: SOUTHERN GARRETT 66, CRISFIELD 52

Tyler Rodeheaver had 21 points to lead four Rams in double figures as they advanced to set up a meeting with Lake Clifton for the 1A title.

Dalton Wiles had 18 points for Southern Garrett, while Cory Ashby and Bryson Will had 10 apiece.

2019 wing Justin Cohen had 20 points for the Crabbers, while 2020 forward Javen Smith had 13 and 2020 forward CorTrey Fontaine 11.

2A: PATTERSON 74, THOMAS STONE 54

2019 guard Marvin Price had 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Clippers back to the state title game after a one-year hiatus. Patterson won it all in 2016-17 before Price transferred to Huntington Prep (WV) for a season.

2020 guard Zach Blackwell and 2019 guard Jalen Willis each had 14 points for the Clippers, while 2019 guard Gerard Mungo finished with 11.

2019 forward Gary Grant had a game-high 22 points for the Cougars - becoming Thomas Stone’s all-time leading scorer in the process - while Shawn Barclay had 19.

2A: WICOMICO 57, OAKDALE 51

Dorian Stevens scored a game-high 26 points to lead Wi-Hi to its first state title appearance since 2013.

Keyshawn Marshall had 12 points for Wicomico, while Jaden Baker had 7 points,10 rebounds and 8 assists.

2019 guard Collin Schlee had 21 points and 16 rebounds for the Bears.
