HD Woodson's Antwan Walker headlines our All-DC team.

As we wrap up our 2015-16 high school basketball season coverage on DMVelite, we are proud to announce our All-District selections for Washington, D.C.

Our staff would like to thank the players, coaches and fans who made this past season – our sixth year of high school coverage – a success, and we look forward to many more. In addition to this All-DC team (which features only players from schools located in the District), we'll be rolling out All-Maryland and All-Northern Virginia teams during the week, culminating in our overall All-DMVelite squad.

And now, here’s our selection of the District’s best of the best – the 2016 DMVelite All-DC Team:

He saved his most memorable performance for his team’s biggest game, dropping 39 points in a thrilling overtime victory over Gonzaga at Verizon Center. Boyd’s breakout season has earned him scholarship offers from a host of high-major Division I programs.

Anthony Cowan, St. John’s 2016 Guard

The future Maryland Terrapin turned in his best season as a senior, averaging 20.6 points per game and leading the Cadets to their first Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship since 2000. He went for a career-high 39 points in a January win over St. Francis (Ga.) and McDonald’s All-American guard Kobi Simmons, and finished the year by scoring 25 or more points in 12 games.

Jeff Dowtin, St. John’s 2016 Guard

The Rhode Island-bound Dowtin was one of the Cadets’ most consistent threats, scoring in double figures 29 times in 35 games. He finished second on the team in scoring at 15.8 points per game, and teamed with Cowan to form a WCAC title-winning backcourt.

Luka Garza, Maret 2017 Center

Fully healthy after an injury-plagued summer, Garza averaged 25 points per game in a breakout junior season. He was nearly impossible to stop on the low block and also displayed nice shooting touch from the perimeter. Garza opened the season with 32 points in a win over Bishop McNamara and eclipsed the 30-point mark seven more times, including four in a row in December.

Kierell Green, IDEA Charter 2016 Forward

Green broke out as a senior, showcasing his impressive motor and versatility while averaging 11 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game for the Timberwolves. He entered the season with a partial Division II scholarship offer and came out with Division I offers and interest.

Prentiss Hubb, Gonzaga 2018 Guard

Hubb has emerged as one of the area’s top young floor generals, and his versatility was a major key to Gonzaga’s success this season. He averaged 10.5 points per game while also finishing second on the team in rebounds (4.3 per game) and assists (3.7).

Chris Lykes, Gonzaga 2017 Guard

In a conference featuring two McDonald’s All-Americans, it was the 5-foot-7 Lykes who emerged as the WCAC Player of The Year. Lykes averaged 22 points per game and proved to be a mismatch for nearly every opponent in his way. 133 assists

Alani Moore, Friendship Collegiate 2016 Guard

Moore’s lone season at Friendship was an eventful one, as the Temple commit rallied the Knights from a slow start to a DC Public Charter School Championship while averaging a team-high 20.5 points and 10 assists per game.

Keleaf Tate, Cesar Chavez 2017 Guard

The versatile wing guard averaged 19 points per game to lead the Eagles, and displayed an improved touch from deep while hitting a team-high 33 3-pointers.
