DMVelite Varsity League: Week 7 Standouts

The regular season came to a close with some stellar performances.

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD - The DMVelite Varsity League regular season drew to a close this past weekend at The Campus.

Here’s a look at some of the standouts from the final week before the playoffs:

KHALIL WILLIAMS, TEAM L.A.B. 2023 GUARD

Team L.A.B. was a late addition to the league, but Williams (Potomac School) has shined with his blennd of size (6’4”), athleticism and overall skill. He poured in 23 points in a 49-22 victory over New Hope, and added 10 in a loss to DMV Stags Elite.

TREY THOMAS, DMV SPORTS ACADEMY 2022 GUARD

The League MVP, Thomas closed the regular season strong, making the game-winning free throw in double overtime to lift DVSA past DC Lions 52-51 in a matchup of the league’s lone unbeaten teams. He finished with 16 points. Just for good measure, later in the day he dropped a league season-high 30 points in a rout of Edge Bulldogs.

KENT KING, DC EAGLES 2021 WING

The Archbishop Carroll (DC) product had 18 points as the Eagles tasted victory for the first time in a thriller with DMV Sports Academy.

KRIS KING, DC EAGLES 2021 WING

King (Archbishop Carroll) had 15 points in his team’s loss to DMV Sports Academy.

JASIR TREMBLE, ACE 2021 GUARD

Tremble(Theodore Roosevelt)  poured in 22 points to lead ACE to a 51-47 win over Team Will on Sunday.

DAOUDA TRAORE, 3Di ATHLETICS 2023 FORWARD

FALU KOITE, 3Di ATHLETICS 2022 GUARD


An athletic prospect from Paint Branch (Md.), Traore teamed with Koite (Duval) to carry the offense in a 56-49 loss to DMV Stags. Traore had 21 points, while Koite finished with 20.

BANKEYS OMARI, DMV STAGS 2022 GUARD

Omari (Clarksburg) had 19 points to lead the Stags to a 62-56 win over We R1 on Saturday. The following day his team-high 14 points helped give his squad a 56-49 win over 3Di Athletics.

CARL POWELL III, LANHAM CHRISTIAN

Powell had 23 points in 65-44 win over Germantown Basketball Club on Saturday.

MICHAEL TEAL, LANHAM CHRISTIAN 2021 GUARD

An unsigned senior guard from TC Williams (Va.), Teal poured in a game-high 20 points to lead LCA to a thrilling 51-50 victory over Say Less Do More.

RYAN ARCHEY, SAY LESS DO MORE 2022 GUARD

Archey had 19 points to carry the scoring load in his team’s narrow 51-50 loss to Lanham Christian. Later in the afternoon he led his team to a win, tallying 16 points in a 38-31 defeat of Team Olney.

O’MEECH WILSON, LH KNIGHTS 2021 FORWARD

Wilson dominated both ends of the court while leading the Knights to a 42-34 upset win over WDBA, finishing with 18 points.

MATTHEW GRAY, WDBA 2022 GUARD

One of the most consistent guards in the league, Gray(Flint Hill) had 18 points as his team fell short against LH Knights.

IMANI ANDERSON, UNKNOWN TALENT 2022 GUARD

Anderson (Avalon) had 14 points to lead Unknown Talent to a 47-34 win over DC Pride.

BARRY EVANS, DMV STAGS ELITE 2021 WING

Evans had 14 points to lead the Stags to a 45-33 win over Team L.A.B.that clinched the top seed in the East Division.

JAKE KOVERMAN, DMV STAGS ELITE 2021 GUARD

A High point University commit, Koverman (Southern) scored 11 points in the second half to help the Stags pull away for a 45-33 win over Team L.A.B.

AMIR GRAY, DC TIGERS 2022 GUARD

Gray (Takoma Academy) went for 25 points to lead his team to a 53-50 win over Team Vito Black on Saturday. In a Tuesday make-up game, he scored 9 of his game-high 17 points in the second half to help the Tigers rally to a 46-45 win over Allentown Pressure.

CHRIS DAVIS, DC TIGERS

Like Gray, Davis came up big in the second half of his team’s 46-45 win over Allentown Pressure, scoring 11 of his 16 points after the break.

ALEX PARISOTTO, TEAM VITO BLACK 2021 GUARD

Parisotto (Quince Orchard) had a team-high 20 points to nearly carry his team to victory in a 53-50 loss to DC Tigers.

JACK WEISS, MADE 2022 GUARD

A 2022 guard from Walter Johnson (Md.), Weiss had a team-high 15 points to lead MADE over Brothers United, 41-31.

GIRLS STANDOUTS

JAYLA COATES, GAME TIME ELITE

In Week 7, Jayla continued her productive play and scored a team high 14 points. Over the last two weeks she has consistently been a floor leader and scorer. 

NAJA NGONGBA, PRODUCTION OVER HYPE

Although undersized, Naja is a skilled post player that plays well around the basket. This weekend she was definitely a spark off the bench and in two  games tallied 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. 

ELENA BERTRAND, PRODUCTION OVER HYPE

Led her team in scoring against a tough Team Excel. Elena added 11 points and consistently got her team a bucket when needed. Look forward to watching her perform in the playoffs.

ALAINA THOMAS, TEAM EXCEL

In her debut game, Alaila came off the bench and scored a team-high 15 points. Thomas is a tall, long wing that can flat out shoot the ball. Against Production Over Hype she displayed her ability to catch and shoot the ball. There is definitely more to come from this sharp shooter.
