A look at this weekend's quarterfinal action.

After an eventful opening round of action, the DMVelite Varsity League playoffs continue this weekend at The Campus (1000 Hampton Park Blvd, Capitol Heights MD) with eight more elimination games.

Here's a look at what's on deck for March 13 and 14:

EAST DIVISION

#1 DMV Stags Elite vs. #9 Allentown Pressure (3/13, 12:40 pm)

Both teams come in well-rested, having advanced after forfeit victories in the first round. All-League First Team selection Barry Evans (Poly) leads the Stags, while 2021 guard Antwan Smallwood (Friendly) is the top threat for the Pressure.

#5 Lanham Christian vs. #13 Team Olney (3/14, 12:40 pm)

Lanham Christian advanced after a 45-35 win over MADE, getting 16 points from Carl Powell and 13 from Michael Teal (TC Williams). They will try to avoid falling victim to a Team Olney squad that pulled off a big upset in Round 1, eliminating #4 Runnin’ Mavs 52-42.

#3 Unknown Talent vs. #6 DC Tigers (3/14, 11:20 am)

Unknown Talent cruised into the second round with a 52-21 win over Team Vito Black, while DC Tigers had to scrap to hold off SayLess DoMore, 51-48.

2022 wing Shaquille Samuels (Avalon) had 14 points and 2022 guard CJ Lee (Rock Creek Christian) 10 for Unknown Talent against Team Vito.  2022 guard Amir Gray (Takoma Academy) led DC Tigers with 15 in their win, while Seth Wright added 13.

#7 WDBA vs. #15 Chevy Chase Cougars (3/13, 10:10 am)

2022 guard Matthew Gray (Flint Hill) and WDBA will seek to avoid falling into a trap against the Cougars, who pulled off the biggest upset of Round I by taking down #2 Team MD Stars, 55-39. 2021 guard David Cooper (Friendship Collegiate) led the Cougars with 13 points in the victory, while fellow seniors Jalen Richards (Friendship Collegiate) and Javeon Jordan (FCA) had 12 apiece.

WEST DIVISION

#1 DMV Sports Academy vs. #8 3Di Athletics (3/14, 10:10 am)

The No. 1 overall seed in the tournament, DMVSA was absolutely dominant in an opening-round victory over MYP Big Cats, getting 21 points from All-League First Team pick Brian Ayafor (Rock Creek Christian 2021 forward) and 12 from League MVP Trey Thomas and 2023 guard Marcus Banks (Riverdale Baptist).

3Di has gotten stronger as the season progressed, and advanced with a 50-40 win over a tough Germantown Basketball Club squad. 2023 wing Daouda Traore (Paint Branch) has emerged as the top scoring option, along with 2022 guard Serigne Koite (Duval).

#5 ECA Warriors vs. #13 Brothers United (3/13, 9 am)

Behind Ashon Andrews (15 points), League Defensive MVP Abdou Samb (12) and Robert Byrd (10), the Warriors downed DMV T-Wolves 62-57 to advance. Brothers United picked up a forfeit victory, and will try to get in a good offensive groove early.

#3 DMV Stags vs. #6 ACE (3/13, 11:30 am)

This should be one of the best battles of the weekend. The Stags held off We R1 52-47 in the opening round behind 16 points from 2022 guard Bankeys Omari (Clarksburg), 12 from 2021 guard Michael Myrie and 11 from Gabriel Jones.

ACE advanced with a dominating win over LH Knights, led by 17 points from 2021 guard Jasir Tremble (Theodore Roosevelt) and 10 from 2021 guard Mark Aiken (Thurgood Marshall).

#2 DC Eagles vs. Team L.A.B. (3/14, 9 am)

The Eagles had a dominant regular season that nearly earned them the overall top seed before falling in the regular-season finale. They got back to their winning ways in Round 1, downing Edge Bulldogs 41-29. 2021 wing Kenton King (Archbishop Carroll) led the Eagles with 12 points in the win, while 2021 guard Jamiyl Kirkland (Friendship Tech Prep) had 10.

Team L.A.B. advanced with a 41-25 win over DC Pride, getting 14 points from 2023 guard Jovani Galarza (Avalon) and 11 from 2023 guard Khalil Williams (Potomac School).
