HAMPTON, VA - Session II of the 2021 DMVelite Super Circuit took place last weekend at the storied Boo Williams SportsPlex, and featured another display of under the radar talent.

Here’s a look at some of the standouts from the 16U Division:

JAMES MCINTYRE, NOVA 94 FEET BLUE

The Washington-Liberty (Va.) 2023 guard made an impressive Super Circuit debut, scoring 16.7 points per game to lead Nova 94 Feet Blue to a perfect 3-0 mark in Session II. In one of his best games he finished with 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting (2-of-3 from deep) in a 67-63 win over Virginia Supreme Elite, consistently getting to his spots offensively and finishing efficiently.

WESLEY WILLIAMS, NOVA UNFD

Williams (Independence 2023 guard) started out slow but finished with a bang. After posting just 4 points on 1-of-11 shooting in the opener, he responded with 31 points (on 11-of-18 shooting and 3-of-4 from deep) and 26 in the next two games. Williams’ offense was key for a shorthanded UNFD squad that played with just five all weekend. He also posted 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.

RYAN DERDERIAN, NOVA UNFD

The 6-foot-4 2023 forward from Battlefield (Va.) posted 18.7 points and 6 rebounds per game for UNFD. He was efficient, shooting 60 percent from the field for the weekend.

BEN ROSSITER, NOVA UNFD

The 6-foot-6 Rossiter (Bishop O’Connell 2023) came up big on both ends for his undermanned UNFD squad, posting 11.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. His best performance was a 15-point (on 5-of-7 shooting), 10-rebound, 2-block outing in the team’s lone victory, a 49-44 win over Maryland Movement Red.

MYLES DERRICOTT, VIRGINIA HAVOC

A 6-foot-3 2023 wing from Patrick Henry HS (Va.), Derricott had his way with opposing defenses in Hampton, putting up a Division-leading 23.7 points per game as Virginia Havoc went 2-1. He’s a skilled player with a good frame and athleticism. The highlight of Derricott’s weekend was a 30 point outing in an 80-75 win over Nova UNFD, as he went 12-of-17 from the field and a sizzling 4-of-5 from 3-point range. He had 21 of his team’s 45 in an opening-night loss to Team Loaded 757.

AARON BROOKS, VIRGINIA SUPREME ELITE

Brooks (Cortland 2023) was practically unguardable in a tough 67-63 loss to Nova 94 Feet Blue, scoring 31 points to nearly lift his team to victory. A talented multi-level scorer with good size and athleticism.

JUSTIN BASS, BWSL STROTHERS

Bass (Kecoughtan) led BWSL Strothers in both scoring (13.7 ppg) and rebounding as he team went 3-0. His best game was a 20-point outing in a 64-46 win over Team Shooters.
