The 17U Division featured several standout performers.

WILMINGTON, DE - DMVelite made its first ever stop in Delaware last weekend, as Session III of the 2021 DMVelite Super Circuit took place at the impressive Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington.

Here’s a look at some of the standouts from the 17U Division:

JUSTIN MOLEN, EAST COAST CYCLONES

A 2022 wing from Salesianum (DE), Molen has attracted recruiting interest from a host of low-major D-I programs, and it was easy to see why. The 6-foot-6 Molen has a good combination of size, shooting and playmaking ability, and averaged 12 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as the Cyclones went 2-1 in Wilmington.

GAVIN KREITZ, EAST COAST CYCLONES

Kreitz did an excellent job of facilitating all weekend, and picked his spots offensively in wins over Maryland Dfenders and Alexandria Kings. He averaged 7.7 points and 2.7 assists per game for the Session.

NADER CHIRCHI, ALEXANDRIA KINGS

Chirchi was an absolute monster on the boards in Wilmington, posting an event-high 15 rebounds per game as the Kings went 2-1 on the weekend. The 6-foot-6 Edison (Va.) product showed good hands and a high motor, and did a great job of clearing space on the block. He opened with 6 points and 17 rebounds in a 55-39 win over Germantown Basketball Club, followed it with 12 points - on 6-of-6 shooting - and 16 boards in a 63-38 win over MD Dfenders, and finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds in 54-45 loss to East Coast Cyclones. A very, very strong weekend for a player who has gotten better with every Super Circuit Session.

MIKE MONTANO, ALEXANDRIA KINGS

One of the Super Circuit’s breakout performers, Montano (Edison 2022 wing) continued his strong play, going for 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in an opening 55-39 win over Germantown Basketball Club. He posted 9 points and 6 rebounds in a win over Maryland Dfenders before departing early with an ankle injury that kept him out of the Kings’ lone loss, a 54-45 setback against East Coast Cyclones. Some Division II programs have begun showing interest in Montano, who has a good blend of size and offensive creativity.

BRYSON KITTRELL, TEAM MARSH

The Mt Zion Christian Academy 2022 guard tormented defenders all weekend with his quickness, averaging a team-high 15 points per game as Team Marsh went a perfect 3-0.

BRYCEN BLAINE, TEAM MARSH

Blaine (LC Bird 2022) averaged 12 points per game to help lead Team Marsh to a 3-0 mark in Wilmington, highlighted b a 15-point, 6 rebound, 3-steal performance against Allentown Pressure.

AARON HERRON, SOUTHERN MD ALL-STARS

SOMD All-Stars went a perfect 4-0 in Wilmington - and are on a five-game winning streak overall - and Herron is one of the biggest reasons why. The Westlake (Md.) 2022 guard has emerged as the team’s leading scorer (11.2 points per game), and continued in that role in Session 3, posting 11.5 points per game. He’s a versatilite scorer who is effective both on and off the ball,

MICHAEL TEAL, NOVA UNFD

Teal is an explosive scoring guard, and had all of his offensive weapons on display while averaging a team-high 14.7 points per game. The uncommitted 2021 TC Williams (Va.) graduate is looking for a junior college fit.

AUSTIN BAILEY, NOVA UNFD

A 5-foot-11 2022 guard from Fairfax Christian (Va.), Bailey impressed with his scoring touch while averaging 13.3 points per game.

HENRY JOHNSON, NOVA UNFD

Johnson was one of UNFD’s top performers during Session II in Hampton, and was consistent again while averaging 11.6 points per game in Wilmington. The 6-foot-3 Tuscarora (Va.) guard has good size and a nice perimeter touch.

JUSTICE EASTER, TEAM PENNSYLVANIA

Team PA came in undermanned with just six players, then lost one in the opening minutes of their first game. Easter himself was banged up in the opener, but toughed it out to average 18 points per game as his squad earned a split on Saturday. A 6-foot-6 guard from Central Dauphin (Pa.), Easter is a versatile two-way guard who impressed with his willingness to do whatever his team needs him to do.

DARRIEN BERRIOS RIVERA, TEAM PENNSYLVANIA

Keeping with Team Pennsylvania’s theme of overcoming obstacles on Saturday, Berrios had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in an opening victory despite blowing out a shoe during the game - necessitating a quick trip to purchase a new pair between games. He posted 23 points and 6 boards in the new kicks, as Team Pa - playing with just five players - fell to Southern Maryland All-Stars. The 6-foot-5 Central Dauphin (Pa.) grad will do a postgraduate year at Moravian Prep (SC), and has been one of the Team PA’s most consistent performers throughout the Super Circuit. He presents matchup problems with his size, strength and ability to hit from the perimeter, and should see his recruitment benefit from the prep year.

JACK ARGENTO, TEAM PENNSYLVANIA

The 6-foot-4 Argento (Hershey 2022) went for  21 points on 9-of-13 shooting and grabbed 9 rebounds for his shorthanded squad in an opening 65-42 win over Metro All-Stars on Saturday. Argento is attracting Division III attention - Wilkes (Pa.) has been his primary suitor - and would be a nice fit for any program looking for a versatile guard. He’s shown the ability to do many things well throughout the Super Circuit, averaging 9.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

IBRAHIM ABDULMATEEN-ROBINSON, VA ELITE MD

The 6-foot-5 Bowie (Md.) forward looked dominant in a 74-71 win over NOVA UNFD, posting 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field while grabbing 12 rebounds. He averaged 11.6 points and 9 rebounds per game for the weekend as his squad went 2-1.

CJ MCCORD, VA ELITE MD

McCord finished with 11 points and showed nice defensive ability to help lead his squad back from a 9-point halftime deficit to pick up a 43-39 win over Team New Jersey on Sunday. VA Elite MD outscored Team New Jersey 22-9 in the second half. The 6-foot-4 wing from St. Vincent Pallotti (Md.) has impressive versatility.

DORIAN JONES, RUNNIN’ MAVERICKS

The Circuit’s breakout star had a rough go of it offensively, as his shots just refused to fall most of the weekend. What impressed me, though, was the way he handled it. Rather than getting frustrated by his scoring drop - he posted 10.3 points per game in Wilmington - he willingly found other ways to contribute as the Mavs went a perfect 3-0 on the weekend. It definitely wasn’t an ideal weekend to go cold offensively with college coaches in attendance, but Jones used the opportunity to show that he can impact a game in more ways than simply scoring.

TRENT ALEXANDER, RUNNIN’ MAVERICKS

Alexander (Edgewood 2022) helped pick up the scoring slack as the Mavs went undefeated in Session III. He averaged 13.3 points per game for the weekend and closed it out strong, posting a game-high 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting and grabbing a game-high 7 rebounds in a 59-54 win over NOVA United.

DAIJUAN SNOW, TEAM SILK

A 2021 CH Flowers (Md.) graduate who will do a prep year, Snow impressed with his quickness in transition and ability to finish from multiple angles in the paint. He averaged 14.3 points per game for Silk, highlighted by a 19-point outing against Team Marsh. He showed toughness by playing through a painful calf injury for the final 1 ½ games.

LIZANDRY NUNEZ, TEAM SILK

Nunez scored 16 of his game-high 25 points in the second half of a 60-54 loss to Team Marsh, trying his best to will his team to the upset. He finished 9-of-14 from the field and 5-of-8 from 3, showcasing deep range. He averaged 18.5 points per game for the weekend.

PJ MOISE, GERMANTOWN BASKETBALL CLUB

A 2022 guard from Seneca Valley (Md.), Moise came up big in GBC’s lone win for the weekend, going for 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting in a 60-47 win over Metro All-Stars on Saturday.
