2023 Governor's Challenge: Day 5 Scores

Results from the final day of Governor's Challenge action.

WICOMICO YOUTH & CIVIC CENTER

SANFORD (DE) 56, LA SALLE (RI) 52

Jayden Taylor had 15 points while Marquis Newson and Jordan Spencer had 14 apiece as the Warriors closed with a victory.

Rex Zadrozny had 16 points to lead the Rams, while Nick Tarro had 11 and Liam Simpson 10.

CHAMINADE (NY) 81, NORTH CATHOLIC (PA) 76

Kam Elliot had 21 points to lead five Flyers in double figures as they pulled out a high-scoring contest to open Day 5.

Chaminade got 17 points from Ricky Gunther, 12 from Joseph Knaus, 11 from Kyle Dillon and 10 from Devin Dillon.

Jason Fredericks and Wills Kontul each had 16 to lead Noth Catholic, which got 12 from Jude Rottman and 11 from Owen Maddalon.

ROMAN CATHOLIC (PA) 62, OUR LADY MT. CARMEL (MD) 41

Sebastian Edwards had 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting - including 4-of-6 from 3-point range - as Roman Catholic jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.

Shareef Jackson had 11 for the Cahillites.

Samartine Hall led the Cougars with 10 points.

LOYOLA BLAKEFIELD (MD) 69, ELIZABETH (NJ) 47

Mason Ellison had 20 points, Jesse LeGree 14 and J’Lin Brown 13 as the Dons pulled away in the second half to win a Bracket Championship. 

Elizabeth led 28-27 at the half, but Loyola outscored them 28-9 in the third to blow the game open.

London Carson had 17 for the Minutemen, while Jordan Torres finished with 13.

BISHOP MCNAMARA (MD) 68, ST. BENEDICT'S PREP (NJ) 65

Jalyn Collingwood had 22 points, Prince Moody 18 and Qayden Samuels 15 as the Mustangs held on late to edge the Grey Bees.

Chidi Nwige and Casper Pohto both had 20 for St. Benedict’s, while Tristan Davis added 11.

CLINTON GRACE CHRISTIAN (MD) 65, ARCHBISHOP SPALDING (MD) 62 (OT)

Isaiah Buckley had 18 points and Daouda Traore 17 as the Eagles rallied from 18 points down to win their Bracket Championship.

Elijah Barrett led the Cavaliers with 20, while Malik Washington had 15 and 11 rebounds and Kam Carter had 10 points.

SEAFORD (DE) 76, WICOMICO (MD) 51

Kashmier Wise had 28 points to lead the Blue Jays, while Jordan Smith and Omari Nichols had 12 and Vincent Evans III finished with 11.

Tay’Shaun Swann had 17 to lead Wi-Hi, while Renaldo White added 13.

HOLY CROSS (NY) 59, MT. ZION PREP (MD) 58

Jacob Moreno had 18 points, Dylan Stanley 14, Jahzir Crawford 11 and Avery Taitt-Christina 10 as the Knights edged the Warriors.

Adrean Walls had 18 points and Karon Allen 12 for Mt. Zion.

AZ COMPASS (AZ) 68, ROCK CREEK CHRISTIAN ACADEMY (MD) 64

Sammie Yeaney had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Dragons as they rallied from 14 points down to fend off an upset.

Jeremiah Fears had 18 points, Victorious Miller 13 and Cameron Miles 11 for AZ Compass.

Rock Creek led 34-22 at halftime, but AZ Compass outscored them 24-10 in the third quarter.

Machi Chester had a game-high 22 for Rock Creek, while Kam Wylie and Sean Van Dorn each had 13.

NEW CHURCH (PA) 70, ST. STEPHEN'S & ST. AGNES (VA) 62

Bahsil Laster had 20 points and 9 rebounds as the Lions claimed a Bracket Championship.

R Warren had 16 for New Church, which also got 14 from Cameron Smith and 11 from Tobe Nwobu.

Cody Gordon had 16 points and Riley Jacobs 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Saints, who played with just seven players.

DEMATHA CATHOLIC (MD) 67, SALESIANUM (DE) 60

Malcolm Thomas had 20 points and 9 rebounds, Ashton Meeks had 16 points and Kade Sebastian finished with 14 as the Stags held off a late Salesianum push.

Justin Hinds led Salesianum with 16 points, while Kareem Thomas added 11.

PARKSIDE (MD) 58, LAUREL (DE) 53

Cade Byer had 21 points and Dustin Brown 11 as Parkside picked up the win.

Laurel’s Brock Hill led all scorers with 23 points, while Jeremiah Hopkins had 11.

STEPHEN DECATUR (MD) 53, DOVER (DE) 52

Davn Chandler had 16 points, Zakhari Baker 13, and Careen Bolden hit the go-ahead shot and made the game-saving steal in the final seconds to keep the Seahawks undefeated.

Dorrell Little had 20 points to lead the Senators.

CAMBRIDGE-SOUTH DORCHESTER (MD) 76, WOODBRIDGE (DE) 58

Koby Ennals had 22 points and 9 rebounds and Isiah Wilcox added 13 as the Vikings seized control early.

Isaiah Giles had a game-high 25 points for Woodbridge, while Jeremy Fletcher had 14.
