 LAUREL, MD - The 2024 Maryland Private School State Basketball Tournament returned to St. Vincent Pallotti for the second round on Saturday, with fourth winners moving on to the quarterfinals.

St. Andrews, Mt. Zion Prep, Rock Creek Christian (White) and DeMatha moved on to the next round, which will take place on Tuesday, March 5 at Archbishop Spalding High School.

Here’s a look at Saturday’s action:

ST. ANDREWS EPISCOPAL 61, SEVERN 41

Xander Alarie had 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Lions used a dominating second quarter to take control and advance.

St. Andrews led 17-8 after one quarter, but outscored Severn 21-4 in the second to take a commanding lead into the locker room.

Seven made a push of its own in the third quarter - outsourcing St. Andrews 15-2 - but could never fully close the gap.

Karon Bailey had 16 points for St. Andrews and Miles Franklin 13 and 10 rebounds.

Kingston Price led the Admirals with 14 points, while Sean Harvey finished with 11 and Jacob Randall 10.

MT. ZION PREP 64, LANHAM CHRISTIAN 58

Francis Folefac posted 19 points and 12 rebounds as the defending champion Warriors held off a pesky Lanham squad in their tournament opener.

Shane Pendergrass had 15 points and 11 boards for Mt. Zion, while Ke’Mari Pointer finished with 10 points.

Nas Joy had 15 points and 7 assists to lead the Lions, while Diego Joy and Brandon Woodard finished with 13 points apiece.

ROCK CREEK CHRISTIAN (WHITE) 67, BISHOP MCNAMARA 65

Jerome Williams had 23 points and Sean Van Dorn posted 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Eagles held on in the final seconds to advance.

Jaren Curtis led McNamara with 20 points and 6 rebounds, while Jalyn Collingwood had 18 points and 9 boards.

DEMATHA 70, RIVERDALE BAPTIST 53

The Stags fell into an early hole but rallied, outscoring Riverdale 20-5 in the second quarter and 16-5 in the third to break the game open.

Ashton Meeks had 27 points to lead the Stags, while Jacob Wallace finished with 14.

Gio Sanford had 14 points to lead the Crusaders, while Nathaniel Wooden had 11.
