KEVE ALUMA, STEPHEN DECATUR (MD.) 2017 FORWARD
In front of a big crowd, Wofford commit Keve Aluma did not disappoint on Day 1 of the 2016 Governor’s Challenge. Aluma was an unstoppable force in the paint as he put up a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Seahawks, and showed off his ever-developing skillset at 6-foot-7.

SEAN JODRIE, OAKDALE (Md.) 2017 FORWARD
Jodrie’s efficient shooting day (5-for-6, 3-for-4 from deep) and team-high five rebounds paced the Bears to an opening 60-31 win over Indian Creek.

DEMARCUS DEMONIA, C.H. FLOWERS (Md.) 2017 WING
Demonia gashed Paint Branch in transition, totaling a game-high 16 points on 6-for-10 shooting, along with four steals. He also pulled down six rebounds, dished three assists and tallied two blocks. On top of that, Demonia’s emphatic fastbreak slam early in the second half was the catalyst for a 37-point third Flowers quarter.

TAVON JONES, LINDEN (NJ) 2018 GUARD
Rated a four-star prospect by ESPN, Jones came in as a player to watch and he didn't disappoint. The 6-foot-3 Jones went for 24 points, 8 assists and 5 steals in an 84-54 win over Olympic (NC). He was a highly efficient 10-of-14 from the field and seemed in control of the game from the opening tip.

UGO OBASI, MILFORD MILL (Md.) 2018 GUARD
Obasi (23 points on 8-for-14 shooting) provided a spark down the stretch after Parkside fought back to narrow the Millers’ 14-point lead to just five in the second half.

JOEY ADAMS, NORTH CAROLINE (Md.) 2018 GUARD
Adams stuffed the stat sheet en route to a nice Bulldogs win over IDEA Charter. He recorded 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting along with eight assists and five rebounds. On the defensive end, Adams’ effort led to three steals and helped hold IDEA Charter to 32.5 percent shooting.

DAVON BECKFORD, INDIAN CREEK (Md.) 2017 FORWARD
The 6-foot-4 Beckford posted a team-high 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting to lead Indian Creek to a 52-43 win over Easton, and seemed to be involved on nearly every big play for the Eagles. Beckford also had one of the top hustle plays of the day, jumping into the Indian Creek bench to save a loose ball, taking out four chairs in the process.

TYLER FOSTER, MIDDLEBURG (Va.) 2017 GUARD
Foster dropped 26 points to will the Dragons to a 59-55 overtime victory over Charlotte Basketball Academy. After scoring 16 of Middleburg’s 32 first-half points to push them to an early lead, he was steady in the fourth quarter and overtime, and finished 9-of-13 from the foul line.

DEE BARNES, KING’S CHRISTIAN (Md.) 2018 GUARD
Barnes put himself firmly on our radar in King’s Christian’s opening round victory on Tuesday. The smooth guard was at his best in transition and showed an ability to get to the rim and draw a foul just about whenever he wanted. Turning in one of the most impressive stat lines of the day, Barnes put up 19 points and 10 rebounds, along with 6 assists and 5 steals.

MALIK JORDAN, KEMPSVILLE (Va.) 2018 GUARD
The elusive Kempsville lead guard put together one of the more impressive performances of the day. Johnson thrived with the ball in his hands, creating for teammates and himself, while consistently putting pressure on the opposing ball handler. Jordan finished with a quiet 21 points on Day 1, along with six boards and five assists.
