2016 MVP: TERENCE LEWIS, NATIONAL CHRISTIAN 2017 FORWARD
Lewis wasn't the most high-profile player in attendance, but came in with a chip on his shoulder and was eager to prove his place amongst the area's best.

“I’m trying to get the MVP award,” Lewis told DMVelite’s Branden Roth early in the day. “I know its really hard work and all and everybody really wants to get that award, so I’m just trying to play hard, fight and get deflections on defense so I can get the award.”

Mission Accomplished. Lewis brought his wish to fruition by finishing as the event’s leading scorer (14.7 points per game) and rebounder (10 per game), becoming the first player in the DMVelite 80’s four-year history to top both categories.

The 6-foot-6, 180-pound Lewis posted 16 points and 7 rebounds in an opening win over Team Red, and followed that with a pair of 14-point outings, grabbing 9 and 14 rebounds, respectively.

Lewis came into the event with an offer from D-2 Felician University (NJ) and low Division I interest, but opened plenty of eyes with his play Saturday and was a hot topic among the college coaches in attendance.
