DMVeliteX Premier Run Standouts

BOWIE, MD - The third annual DMVelite Buffalo Wild Wings Extravaganza opened with an Unsigned Senior Showcase and closed strong with the Underclassmen Premier Run.

The event gave over 70 freshmen, sophomore and juniors a jumpstart into the travel season, as well as the opportunity to get some looks from the college coaches who attended and viewed the live stream presented by NFHSnetwork.

Here’s a look at some of the top performers:

Bryan Bohlert, Magruder (Md.) 2017 Forward
Bohlert (6-foot-5) turned in the top performance of the day, going for 20 points and nine rebounds in one of his showcase games. He’s a versatile offensive performer who displayed both a smooth touch from the outside and a willingness to bang in the paint. He finished the day averaging 9.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

Kieron Williams, Capitol Christian (Md.) 2017 Guard
Williams led all scorers at 9.5 points per game and tied for tops in assists at 2.8 per game. The Capitol Christian newcomer - he spent this past season at C.H. Flowers - excels at pushing the pace, and was able to consistently create shots for himself and teammates all afternoon.

Souleymane Gueye, Archbishop Carroll (DC) 2019 Forward
Gueye drew rave reviews for his motor and sheer athleticism while producing 6.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He’s still raw offensively, but used his strength and quickness to his advantage while attacking from the wing and in transition.

D’Andre Johnson, Clinton Christian (Md.) 2017 Forward
The 6-9 Johnson is a rangy and athletic prospect who flashed a very nice all-around game. He averaged 8 points, 4.7 rebounds and an event-high 2.0 blocks per game.

Merlon Devine II, La Plata (Md.) 2018 Guard
Devine impressed with his energy on the defensive end, and collected an event-leading 7 steals (1.8 per game) to earn Defensive MVP honors. He has good size (6-2) and showed a nice knack for playing passing lanes.

DeAngelo Tull, St. Mary’s-Ryken (Md.) 2017 Guard
Tull drew the eyes of many college scouts throughout the day with his efficient facilitating. Showed the ability to change the pace of the game in transition or in the half court offense. Shifty guard who isn’t afraid to dice it around the rim, and shoots the 3-ball effectively.

Kyle Daggett, Walkersville (Md.) 2017 Forward
Daggett was one of the most talked -about players of the event, utilizing his dynamic 6-foot-6 frame from nearly every spot on the hardwood. Spotting up on the wing, he could knock down an outside shot or create shots for his teammates. On the low block, he used a series of crafty post moves and consistently stuck with putbacks. Ranked ninth in scoring with 33 points overall.

Tim Jones, Central (Md.) 2017 Point Guard
Jones is a budding lead guard who enjoyed a breakout junior campaign, emerging as a leader and relient player on Central in the loaded PG County 3A/2A/1A. Can score from all areas on the court and is effective in transition. Willed his way to the free throw line an event runner-up six times. Sees the court well, ranking fifth in the showcase with five assists. Runs the show with confidence.

Sherwyn Devonish, Jr., DeMatha (Md.) 2018 Guard
The DeMatha guard was an offensive catalyst the entire day. He came one point shy of a scoring title (37 points) and his 11 assists tied for a showcase best. Rebounded at high rate as well, ranking tied for fifth in defensive boards with 10.

Kobe Colston, Blake (Md.) 2017 Guard
Coming off of a breakout junior season, in which he led Blake to the MPSSAA sectional championship, Colston showcased all of his playmaking intangibles. His improved outside shot was on display, as he went 6-of-10 from 3-point range to tie for the event high in made 3’s. Has an exceptional motor with a knack for stuffing the stat sheet.

Olanrewaju Olamuyiwa, Capitol Christian (Md.) 2019 Center
The 6-foot-9 freshman put his length and upside on display, leading all players with 28 rebounds (7.0 per game). Disrupted passing lanes with his tremendous length and swatted two blocks. Has a raw offensive skillset, but showed he could back his stellar defense in the scoring department.

Jaden Faulkner, Eleanor Roosevelt (Md.) 2018 Wing
Coming off of the 4A MPSSAA state championship in dominating fashion, Faulkner put on another show in the Bowie gymnasium. He ranked in the top four in total points scored (33) and in total rebounds (16). The rising junior was always in attack mode, looking for a way to get to the rim or get others involved. Had a relentless will to pound the glass.
 
David Oliveras, Great Mills (Md.) 2017 Guard
Oliveras showcased a relentless motor for the entire showcase. The speedy guard was always active on the defensive end, displaying quick hands and good instincts, swiping four steals (ranked third). Mixed it up on the offensive end as well with an ability to get to the rim.

Josh Sproul, Washington (Md.) 2017 Guard
Sproul put on a scoring display, ranking in the top five with 33 total points. Scored from all around hardwood -- knifing through the defense for layups and consistently knocking down 3-pointers -- in which he had four. Shot a cool 67 percent from behind the arc.

Antonio Cockrell, Landon (Md.) 2018 Guard
Cockrell was an offensive catalyst all day, ranking seventh in the event with 28 total points. Didn’t shy away from taking the offensive load, attempting a showcase high 12 3-pointers -- four of which he knocked down. Took charge defensively as well, thieving four steals.
