BOWIE, Md. – The third annual DMVelite Unsigned Senior Showcase featured many eye-catching performances from the Class of 2016.
Held at the prestigious City of Bowie gymnasium as part of the DMVelite Buffalo Wild Wings Extravaganza, a host of college coaches were on hand to oversee the talents of 73 uncommitted senior prospects from The District, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware. Several more programs watched the action on the live stream presented by NFHSnetwork.

Here’s a look at some of the top performers:
MVP – Tamontae Chambliss, HD Woodson (D.C.) Combo Guard
Coming off a historic campaign in which HD Woodson went 33-0 and captured the DCSAA championship, Chambliss (6-foot-2) carried that dominance into Saturday’s showcase.
From the outset, he showcased a motor that was at a level above the rest, which translated into production all over the court.
Chambliss’ offensive skillset was absolute dynamite as his 51 total points (12.8 PPG), 21 made field goals and 75 percent shooting mark led the event. From zooming up and down the court in transition, to consistently splashing rangy 3-pointers (7-for-9 from beyond the arc), Chambliss found a way to put the ball in the basket. He was an offensive catalyst beyond just his scoring title – displaying superb court awareness with an attack mindset and looking for ways to get others involved – ranking fourth in assists with nine.
Chambliss was always active on the defensive end as well, disrupting passing lanes by swiping steals (five total) with his long arms and a quick jump. His on-ball defense was more than exceptional with an ability to change directions swiftly.
The DC product did more than enough to come out as the MVP of this year’s Unsigned Senior Showcase.
Kierell Green, IDEA Charter (D.C.) Wing
Green (6-foot-6), who was a double-double machine for IDEA Charter this past season, nearly put up the same result in three showcase games on Saturday, going for 8-and-8, 13-and-7, and 22-and-8. He showed versatility to spot up on the perimeter and convert outside shots (three 3-pointers) or duck down on the low block and perform a series of post moves. When he wasn’t the one creating shots for his team (17-for-24 from the floor), he pounded the glass, hauling down 23 for the day (12 offensive), good enough for second. Green’s 14.3 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game both ranked first in the event. Offered a solid defensive presence as well, swatting two blocks.
Malik Winston, Dundalk (Md.) Wing
Winston (6-foot-3) was single-handedly the most aggressive and fearless player at the event, getting a hand in on what seemed like nearly every play. His hard-nosed demeanor made him the favorite to come away with a loose ball or haul down a rebound – of which he had 26 in the event, good enough to lead all players. Winston made a living off of second-chance points and the ability to stick put-back’s, totaling 15 offensive boards (ranked first) and 42 total points (ranked third). Put up a respectable shooting performance of 58 percent from the floor. Showed he can shoot the ball well outside, knocking down four 3-pointers. Played stifling defense to compliment his gritty offensive production, taking six steals (ranked second). You didn’t need to look at the stats to tab Winston as the recipient of the Hustle Award.
Montraz Oliver, Washington (Md.) Point Guard
The athletic point guard from the Eastern Shore’s Washington High (6-foot-2) was an offensive catalyst for his team, attempting an event-high 32 shots from all over the court. Oliver’s variety of offense resulted in in a top five scoring performance of 38 points. He shot the ball with confidence, knocking down an event high nine 3-pointers on 19 attempts. Oliver backed up his high-level offense by harassing opposing guards on the defensive end, swiping six steals, which ranked second in the event.
Kevin Holston, Bethesda Chevy-Chase (Md.) Guard
Holston (6-foot-1) made his presence felt by asserting himself all over the court. He brings an intriguing repertoire to the table, but the one thing that pops out when you watch Holston is his relentless motor. He was a nightmare to go up against, grabbing steals (he led the event with seven) and playing intense on-ball defense that seemed unsolvable. Offensively, he has a smooth stroke from behind the arc and a sharp crossover that allows him to make plays and get to the rim. As a lead guard, he can facilitate at a high level and his 31 total points ranked him in the top five overall. Though he gave up a lot of inches to the other players around him, his motor outweighed that as his 12 defensive rebounds led the event. Holston’s defensive effort was good enough to earn him MVP in that department.
Justin Milstead, IDEA Charter (D.C.) Point Guard
Milstead (5-foot-9) is stocky lead guard who brings practically everything to the table. He can quarterback the offense in the transition game with frozen-rope outlet passes, and in half-court sets, making sure his teammates are spaced accordingly. His court vision is superb and he offers a complimentary change of pace to the game. Milstead can knock down outside shots if needed, but his bread-and-butter is penetrating and getting to the rim. Despite playing in just two games, he still managed to rank second in the event in assists (11) and eighth in rebounding average (four per game). To go along with his do-it-all style of play, he brings a tremendous amount of energy to the court.
Stephen Robinson, Bowie (Md.) Guard
Robinson (6-foot-2) produced efficient offense throughout the event and was diligent about his shot selection. His 31 points ranked him fifth for the event and his 65 percent shooting mark ranked him towards the top of participants. Showed next level court vision and the ability to get others involved. Was a competitor on the defensive end of the floor.
Jack Tempchin, Blake (Md.) Point Guard
Tempchin (5-foot-10), is a shifty lead guard who plays with a lot of heart and was one of the best at creating opportunities for his teammates. His agility allows him to separate from his defender and make a play that often results in a bucket. Tempchin excels in the transition game and the ability to breakdown what the defense is throwing at him. He dished nine assists which was good enough for fourth and is a pesky defender on the perimeter.
Dom Sackickas, Broadfording (Md.) Forward
Sackickas, a DMVelite 80 alum, was a force on the low block for the entire event and drew the eyes of many college coaches that were on hand. He powered his way for tough buckets in the paint and showed face-up ability by hitting a handful of outside shots. Sackickas’s frame is built for the next level – standing at a wide shouldered 6-foot-7 who can body up the strongest of post players on the low block. Ranked third in the event with 19 rebounds (8 offensive) and provided play-making ability in the post, compiling nine assists. Registered two blocks as well.
Nico Wolff, Magruder (Md.) Forward
The Magruder product, Wolff (6-foot-8), offers a wide wingspan and upside at the next level. His length clogs passing lanes and makes it difficult for his opposition to finish around the rim. Wolff rebounds a high rate, finishing tied for fourth in the event in the category. Performs at an effective level in the post as well, dropping 57 percent of his shots.
Kirk Hawkins, Laurel (Md.) Point Guard
Hawkins is an intriguing lead guard prospect that willed his way to free throw line an event-high 14 times. He offers a next level motor with plenty of offensive goods and sees the floor clearly. Has a good feel for his surroundings bringing terrific defensive instincts to the table.
Daryl Bones, IDEA Charter (D.C.) Guard
Bones (6-foot-3) is an aggressive combo guard that finishes well around the rim and running the fast break. He has a flurry of moves when he attacks the basket which keeps defenders off balance. Is a plus defender as well. Ranked seventh in the event in total scoring with 30 points, fourth in total rebounds with 16 and fourth in steals with five.
Matt Considine, Middletown (Md.) Shooting Guard
Considine (6-foot-3) is coming off a season in which he carried a once irrelevant Middletown team to the MPSSAA 2A title game. He enjoyed a breakout campaign, nearly averaging 20 points per game with his microwave shooting and lethal ability to score the basketball. He offers a nice rebounding presence and plays formidable defense as well.
Brandon Willis, Hammond (Md.) Guard
Willis (5-foot-11) is a combo guard with plenty of offensive firepower that defends at an effective level with his nimble feet. Showcased one of the more fluid jump shots in the showcase while complementing his shooting with a productive motor. Often times scores his points in binges.
