After a breakout junior season, St. Stephens & St. Agnes (Va.) 2019 forward Charles Thompson is focused on taking it to another level.

“I know I’m probably not going to play a big in college - maybe a little bit of  four," he said after a victory at the Capitol Hoops Summer League at DeMatha last Saturday. "So I’m trying to get my handle together, and my shot's been coming along really nicely.”

Thompson posted 16 points and 11 rebounds in a 72-43 win over Georgetown Prep at DeMatha, showing that while he may be moving his game to the wing, he's still an absolute force inside, shooting 6-of-10 from the field.

The 6-foot-7, 230 pound Thompson said he's been hearing recently from George Washington, Holy Cross, Penn and Yale, among others.

“Everything’s going great," he said. "A lot of colleges are looking at me, and I’m actually going to Mount St. Mary’s this Wednesday.”

Thompson averaged 11.2 points per game last year for the Saints, finishing tied for second on the team.

“The high school season helped me greatly," he said. "Everything from high school translates right over to AAU. AAU season is going great, [Team Takeover is] 16-0 right now and we’ve got great momentum and I can’t wait until we get back to Peach Jam.”

Despite the high expectations for that TTO squad, Thompson said he and his teammates don't feel any additional weight.

“There’s no pressure at all," he said. "We’ve all been playing together since, like, 8th grade, 7th grade, so its a bunch of guys you know, and we just happen to be really good.”
