The Week 2 PYBL Power Rankings are now live, see where each team stands in the rankings below. 

1. Arlington Ducks (2-0)

Last week: 1st

The Arlington Ducks won convincingly this past Thursday against the Fairfax Blue Devils making their reign as No. 1 team in the PYBL rankings an easy decision. Arlington answered everything Fairfax threw at them, led by DeShawn Harris-Smith, who finished with 26 points. Nygel Anderson had a double-double in the game, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds. He also had two blocks and two steals.  Bryson Moore was a stat-sheet stuffer with seven points, five rebounds and six assists.

It will be interesting to see if anybody can match Arlington's depth this summer. On a good day, this Arlington squad is a 10-deep squad. They'll face the Montgomery Yellow Jackets at Landon School this Tuesday at 7:45 PM.

2. Southern Maryland Cardinals (2-0)

Last week: 3rd

The defending champions are still undefeated through two weeks of PYBL play. The Southern Maryland Cardinals defeated the Prince George's Stallions this past Wednesday, 60-50, behind a balanced attack. 

Malik Mack finished with 16 points (12 in the first half). Isaiah Arnold finished with 12 points and Asaa Gregg finished with six points. 

The Cardinals led big halfway through the contest, 40-20, then held off a run by the Stallions to keep pace. It was another game where they remained relatively unchallenged, so it's no surprise they move up a spot in this week's rankings. They'll have a big game on their hands this Wednesday night when they face the Washington D.C. Bulldogs.

3. Washington DC Bulldogs (2-0)

Last week: 5th

The Washington D.C. Bulldogs move up two spots with a big game coming up next week. The Bulldogs beat the Charles County Warriors this past week, 82-33. 

Washington D.C. held Charles to 13 points in the second half after leading by just 12 at the half. They put up 50 points as a team in the second half with nine of 10 players scoring at least two points.

Jeremiah Quigley had 15 points. Shamar McIntosh had 10 points. Jariel Henderson had eight points.

They will need to share the wealth this Wednesday, as they'll face the Southern Maryland Cardinals.

4. Baltimore Suns (1-1)

Last week: 2nd

The Baltimore Suns will be out of action until June 24 when they face the Southern Maryland Cardinals.

5. Anne Arundel Wildcats (2-1)

Last week: 4th

The Anne Arundel Wildcats got back to their winning ways this week behind a 27-point, 23-rebound performance from Amani Hansberry. They got past the Montgomery Yellow Jackets this week, 68-63.

Backcourt mate Jaden Johnson finished with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists as well to continue a strong summer performance.

Big man Marcelle Gardner recorded the first double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds. This team has some talent and is figuring it out by the week. Next up: Frederick on Tuesday.

6. Fairfax Blue Devils (1-1)

Last week: 6th

The Fairfax Blue Devils took their first loss of the summer to the Arlington Ducks last week. Jacoi Hutchinson is still averaging 23 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game but the team is still struggling from an overall standpoint.

Isaiah Coleman also finished with 17 points and six rebounds but they still fell in the end, 81-65. They'll need to adjust and there's time for that as well.

One stat to recognize: Arlington finished with 21 assists as a team against Fairfax. Fairfax finished with 12 assists. The Blue Devils will face Loudoun County this Thursday.

7. Frederick Gators (2-1)

Last week: 7th

The Frederick Gators got their second victory in a row after defeating the Prince William Mustangs, 58-56. It was a close one for the Gators but they held on in the end for the victory.

Terrell Webster returned after missing the Gators big victory over the Baltimore Suns. He put up his second double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. 

Mathani Paul-Swinson overcame seven turnovers to four assists as well for the victors. He had 15 points and four rebounds as well.

They'll need to bring an extra focus for this week's opponent: the Anne Arundel Wildcats.

8. Montgomery Yellow Jackets (1-1)

Last week: 8th

The Montgomery Yellow Jackets were knocking on the door this past week, but fell by five points to the Anne Arundel Wildcats, 68-63. 

Three different players scored in double figures for the Yellow Jackets (Rieco Hellams, Farrell Crowell and Quint Booker). Crowell finished with a team-high 23 points, Booker had 18 and Hellams had 15. Still, it wasn't enough as Montgomery lost their first game of the summer. Their next opponent will be against Arlington.

9. Alexandria Knights (1-1)

Last week: 10th

The Alexandria Knights got their first victory of summer behind a big game from Macon Dean this past week. They defeated the Loudoun County Eagles, 78-51, behind 22 points and 18 rebounds from Dean.

Justin Boggs had 18 points and five rebounds as Delamortay Jones and Ramon Jones Jr. finished with 15 and 12 points respectively. 

They used a balanced scoring attack to do away with the Eagles with relative ease. It was a complete 180 from their performance against Fairfax in Week 1. They'll look to keep it going against Prince William this Thursday at 7:45PM.

10. Prince George's Stallions (0-2)

Last week: 9th

The Prince George's Stallions might be the best winless team in PYBL play right now. They lost their first game to Washington D.C. by five points then lost this past week to Southern Maryland by 10 points.

They've been knocking on the door to victory behind the play of Kalen Cobb and Tieron Vick but they need to be more deliberate in their approach.  Moving Habib Kamara to the point guard spot should change the results, let's see if it happens.

Things should get a little easier this week as Prince George's faces Charles County.

11. Prince William Mustangs (0-2)

Last week: 11th

The Prince William Mustangs are another team on the cusp of victory. They should challenge the Alexandria Knights this week in their game.

Nasir Coleman and Aiden Gallagher have emerged as the leaders for Prince William. Coleman finished with 16 points and seven rebounds in their game against Frederick. Gallagher recorded 14 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. 

It will be interesting to see how they perform against Alexandria this week as they're hungry for a victory.

12. Charles County Warriors (0-2)

Last week: 12th

The Charles County Warriors find themselves at the bottom of the rankings but they've got potential with Kyan Bowman as a scorer. He finished with 11 points in their 82-33 loss to the Washington D.C. Bulldogs. Next up for them: Prince George's Stallions. 

13. Loudoun County Eagles (0-2)

Last week: 13th

The Loudoun County Eagles remain winless but valiant efforts from Kristopher Johnson and Domenic Duncan kept them in it. They lost 78-51 but they were competitive nonetheless. Next up: Fairfax.
