The Baltimore Suns got back in the win column with a victory over Southern Maryland on Sunday.

The Baltimore Suns got back in the win column with a victory over Southern Maryland on Sunday. It was the Southern Maryland Cardinals first loss of the summer season, as they fell 73-51.

The Suns didn't show any signs of rust despite missing most of the month as the "weekend team" of PYBL play. Baltimore was led by Jahnathan Lamothe's 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor. Lamothe was also 3-of-5 from 3-point range in the game as the Suns cracked things open in the second half.

Baltimore outscored Southern Maryland 19-9 in the fourth quarter, showing no signs of slowing down as it looked like the Cardinals ran out of juice.

Samartine Bogues put up 15 points and Derik Queen put up 10 points for Baltimore as well.

The Cardinals were led by Lafayette Williams' 14 points on three made 3-pointers. Asa Gregg finished with 11 points and six rebounds behind Williams.

The latest result certainly creates an interesting scenario for this week's PYBL Power Rankings, which will be released on Tuesday morning. The remaining undefeated team in PYBL play is the Arlington Ducks.
