After a brief hiatus, the PYBL power rankings return with a new look at the top.

After a brief hiatus, the PYBL power rankings return with a new look at the top, at least, after the No. 1 ranked Arlington Ducks. The Ducks remain atop the Week 5 rankings as the lone undefeated team in PYBL summer play.

It's a big weekend coming up as the PYBL Elite division has a showcase coming up this Saturday and Sunday. There will be some big matchups with huge implications to the next edition of rankings.

Here's a look at the Week 5 PYBL power rankings:

1. Arlington Ducks (4-0)
Last rank: 1st

The Arlington Ducks are 4-0 through four weeks of the PYBL summer season. They have won their last two games over the Montgomery Yellow Jackets and Prince George's Stallions in recent weeks and still haven't been challenged very much.

They own the largest winning margin of the season so far, outscoring their opponents by 60 points. The Ducks are a deep squad led by potential King of the Summer DeShawn Harris-Smith. Harris-Smith put up 20 points and five rebounds in their last victory over Prince George's, 71-41.

2. Frederick Gators (3-1)
Last rank: 7th

The Frederick Gators game against Charles was postponed due to the increased heat of the summer, but that didn't stop them from moving way up in the PYBL ranks.

The Gators are led by a trio of Marvin Brimage Jr., Ricardo Glass and Terrell Webster. They each put up double-doubles in their tough overtime victory over Anne Arundel back on June 12. Now, they look like the team to beat going forward.

Point guard Mathani Paul-Swinson is also another player to keep an eye on. He's a player that can set the tone on both ends with his ability.

3. Baltimore Suns (2-1)
Last rank: 4th

The Baltimore Suns returned to PYBL play with a 73-51 victory over Southern Maryland this past Sunday. The Suns got back to their winning ways after falling to Frederick in the second of two games back on June 3.

Jahnathan Lamothe had a breakout game against the Cardinals, putting up 23 points, five rebounds and two blocks. He was 7-for-12 from the floor and 3-for-5 from 3-point land in a big victory for Baltimore.

The Suns have big games coming up this Saturday and Sunday against Arlington and Washington D.C.. In a rematch of last year's Rising Stars Championship, they have a chance to knock off top-ranked Arlington this weekend and then some.

4. Southern Maryland Cardinals (4-1)
Last rank: 2nd

The Southern Maryland Cardinals dropped a few spots in the ranks after their loss to Baltimore. The Cardinals looked out of sorts against the Suns this past Sunday as they 34.4 percent as a team from the floor.

Malik Mack was held to just four points on 1-of-6 shooting after putting up 13 points against Alexandria last Wednesday evening. Asa Gregg was unable to put up a double-double, but he was close, producing 11 points and six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Southern Maryland still remains in the Top 5 for now. With Anne Arundel and Fairfax up next, there's not much time to dwell on their one loss. They'll need to bounce back in Week 5.

5. Washington D.C. Bulldogs (3-1)
Last rank: 3rd

The Washington D.C. Bulldogs have gone 1-1 since the last published power rankings. Their spot can change, depending on their play, though.

Point guard Jeremiah Quigley played well in his return to the lineup against Montgomery last week. He scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists in a 62-52 victory.

They will face Loudoun, Anne Arundel and Baltimore in their next three games. If they can win all three, they could find themselves as another team to beat very soon.

6. Fairfax Blue Devils (2-1)
Last rank: 6th

The Fairfax Blue Devils stayed put in the Week 5 power rankings after their last game was postponed. Their upcoming schedule has them facing off against Prince William, Southern Maryland and Montgomery so, by next week, they could be 5-1 or worse than that.

Point guard Jacoi Hutchinson put up the summer season's lone triple-double in Fairfax' last victory over Loudoun. He contributed 21 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a 69-40 victory.

He'll have more to prove as another King of the Summer candidate. Aiden Billings will be a force if they continue to use him as well. He put up 14 points and 12 rebounds in their last victory.

7. Anne Arundel Wildcats (2-2)
Last rank: 5th

The Anne Arundel Wildcats are a team still in search of their identity as a team. They are 1-1 in their last two games behind their two-headed attack of Amani Hansberry and Jaden Johnson

Their last overtime loss to Frederick exposed some chinks in the proverbial armor, but such is life in the game of basketball. Hansberry still put up 22 points and 17 rebounds in the loss, while Johnson was held to just 10 points on 3-of-13 shooting from the field.

It didn't help they had 21 turnovers as a team in their last loss so that will be something to keep an eye on going forward. The Wildcats face Southern Maryland, Washington D.C. and Fairfax in their next three games which will be no easy task.

8. Alexandria Knights (2-2)
Last rank: 9th

The Alexandria Knights are right at .500 approaching an interesting portion of their schedule. They lost their last game to Southern Maryland, 66-57, but they're figuring it out as a team.

Delamortay Jones put up 26 points and Ramon Jones Jr. put up 14 points and eight rebounds, but a rough second quarter held them back from victory. They put up just six points in the game while Southern Maryland scored 11 points.

Alexandria has an opportunity to boost their status in the rankings with two favorable matchups approaching against Charles and Prince George's this week.

9. Montgomery Yellow Jackets (1-3)
Last rank: 8th

The Montgomery Yellow Jackets have lost three games in a row since winning their season opener over Frederick. They have the star power in Rieco Hellams, Quint Booker and Farrell Crowell. They just haven't figured out how to put it together for a victory.

Booker and Hellams put up 14 points apiece while Crowell scored 12 points in their last game against Washington D.C. but they still seemed to be missing something, as they still lost 62-52.

Thomas Batties had eight points on 3-of-10 shooting along with 11 rebounds and six blocks in the loss as well. He'll be one to watch in their next couple games. Montgomery faces Prince William and Fairfax this week.

10. Prince George's Stallions
Last rank: 10th

The Prince George's Stallions are 1-1 in their last two games, falling mightily to first-ranked Arlington this past week.  Kalen Cobb posted 15 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in the game, but nobody else could seem to keep pace.

In the game before that, they won handily, 79-49, over Charles. The Stallions were led by Taj Clayton who scored 23 points, while Kayden Tuffour also had 11 points.  They'll need to find their way pretty soon or they could find themselves on the outside looking in come playoff time.

11. Loudoun Eagles (1-3)
Last rank: 13th

The Loudoun Eagles moved out of last place in the rankings after a convincing victory over Prince William, 69-57, this past week. Led by big man Kelly Okoroh posted a double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds), the Eagles got their first victory of the summer season last Thursday.

Loudoun outscored Prince William 28-9 in the second quarter to create a huge lead and never looked back. Alex Bokman had 10 points and seven rebounds and Jackson Pugh had 13 points as well.

After earning a victory, let's see if they can carry over any momentum. Next up: Washington D.C., Charles and Arlington.

12. Prince William Mustangs (0-4)
Last rank: 11th

The Prince William Mustangs are one of two winless teams remaining in PYBL play. They are a team that has recovered from a few injuries in their frontcourt and haven't seemed to adjust very well.

The Mustangs got 16 points from Nasir Coleman in their last contest, but they fell in a convincing manner, 69-57, to Loudoun. As a team, they had 18 turnovers and 10 assists in the game, which is never a good formula for success.

They'll need to find ways to put the ball in the hands of point guards Ben Hammond or Jeremiah Gorham to get things flowing. Fairfax, Montgomery and Charles are on the schedule this week for Prince William.

13. Charles County (0-3)
Last rank: 12th

The Charles County Warriors are the other winless team left in PYBL summer play. They still haven't found their star power yet but they're still managing to play competitively.

Jayden Brown remains the unsung hero for the Warriors, putting up 14 points in their last game against Prince George's. Brown has led the team in scoring in two of their three games of the young season.

He'll be one to watch as they face Alexandria, Loudoun and Prince William this week. They're young but they're bound to win one of those three games, sticking to the theme of #NoEasySummer.
