Playoff seeds are beginning to take shape after strong showing this past weekend.

It was an action-packed weekend of games during the PYBL Showcase as every team was in action this past Saturday and Sunday.

The Washington D.C. Bulldogs and Fairfax Blue Devils escaped the weekend unscathed, as both teams are at the top of the standings at 6-1.

It may not be a mystery anymore who this year's King of the Summer after the weekend Jacoi Hutchinson had. Hutchinson put up 31 points in one victory, 23 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for his second triple-double of the season in another victory and 39 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in a double-overtime victory.

Hutchinson wasn't the only one with a big performance, either. Sharpshooting Ben Woodward is beginning to find his stroke as well. Woodward poured in 27 points and 10 rebounds on 7-of-8 shooting from 3-point range in a 90-42 victory over Anne Arundel.

For those keeping track, Fairfax went 3-0 through the weekend with victories over the Anne Arundel Wildcats, Southern Maryland Cardinals and the Montgomery Yellow Jackets.

Another team that's quietly been on the rise are the Washington D.C. BulldogsThe Bulldogs went 2-0 through the weekend with victories over the Anne Arundel Wildcats and the Baltimore Suns.

Ball movement and solid team play have pushed the Bulldogs to the top of the PYBL this summer and they look poised for a deep run in the postseason.

In their victory over Baltimore, five players scored in double figures. Jaden Winston and Kejaun Richburg both had 16 points each. Jeremiah Quigley had 12 points, nine assists, six rebounds and fou steals. Colin Reynolds had 14 points and five rebounds. Jamari Arrington nearly had a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds as well as five steals.

Defensively, they forced 21 turnovers and overcame 24 points from Baltimore's Johnathan Lamothe. Lamothe and the Suns handed the Arlington Ducks' their first loss of the summer, 68-52.

The Ducks shot 2-of-23 from 3-point range and had 29 turnovers in arguably their worst performance of the season. They shot 29.5 percent from the floor in the game although DeShawn Harris-Smith still had 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Baltimore, on the other hand, shot 45.3 percent from the field as a team while attempting just six 3-pointers. DJ Dormu put up 13 points and five assists while Sean Clark and Lamothe had 12 points apiece.

Arlington is still 5-1 and in good shape in the PYBL standings. They still have the Alexandria Knights and Washington D.C. Bulldogs on their schedule.  Their final game could go either way.

The Frederick Gators are 4-1 (as of July 2), though, their schedule of Prince George's and Southern Maryland could both go either way.

The Alexandria Knights look to be in the running for postseason play with a 3-3 record. They'll give Arlington a challenge and their final game against Prince George's should be a fun game to watch.

The wildcards are the Anne Arundel Wildcats, Loudoun Eagles and Prince George's Stallions. The Wildcats and Eagles are both 2-5 and Stallions are 1-4. Considering their records, sealing three victories could ultimately get one of those three teams in. Now, they just need to get there.
