MARDELA (MD) 65, CONCORDIA PREP (MD) 47
2019 guard Syncere Pinkett had 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Warriors raced out to an early lead and never looked back in Wednesday’s opener.
2019 guard Jarren Smith had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Mardela, while 2021 forward Zach Mills finished with 10 points. The Warriors led 18-5 after one quarter.
2019 guard Nick Trikeriotis led Concordia Prep with 14 points, while 2019 guard Josh Ogbenna had 12. Andrew Stephens grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.
SNOW HILL (MD) 80, INDIAN RIVER (DE) 53
2019 guard Zyaire Johnson totaled 29 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles, who turned an eight-point game at the half into a romp.
Snow Hill 2021 guard Shi’Quan Williams posted 17 points and 18 rebounds, and 2019 guards Jeffrey Ayres and Curtis Blake scored in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
2019 guard Jamier Felton paced Indian River with 21 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
SEED SCHOOL (DC) 53, LAUREL (DE) 51
2020 guard Kenneth Riley made two free throws with 10 seconds remaining to give the Falcons the lead, and they held on at the buzzer.
Riley finished with a game-high 28 points for SEED, which got double-doubles from 2020 guard Anthony Simmons (10 points, 10 rebounds) and 2019 guard Zachary Clark (10 points, 14 rebounds).
2022 guard Javier White had 14 points to lead Laurel, while 2019 forward Deshawn Matthews had 10. 2020 forward Bricen Sanders had 7 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
TALLWOOD (VA) 54, STEPHEN DECATUR (MD) 38
2019 guard Evan White scored a game-high 15 points and the Lions forced 24 turnovers to stifle the three-time reigning 3A East champions.
Additionally, 2020 guard Kaleb Peterson pitched in 13 points and six assists and 2020 center Calvin Thomas grabbed 10 rebounds for Tallwood.
2020 forward Churchill Bounds led Stephen Decatur with 14 points and five rebounds.
DUNBAR (MD) 56, CRISFIELD (MD) 43
In a matchup of two of Maryland’s most successful programs, the Poets prevailed behind strong rebounding and free throw shooting.
2019 guard Dasean Jones scored 14 points to lead Dunbar, which outrebounded Crisfield 41-26 and shot 20-for-25 from the foul line.
2019 wing Justin Cohen had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Crabbers, while 2020 guard Ry’Kell Waters had 10 points.
PATTERSON MILL (MD) 86, WALKERSVILLE (MD) 75 OT
The Huskies received three 20-point scoring efforts from 2019 guard Connor Madsen (21), 2019 guard Nathan Roussey (20, five assists), and 2021 guard Michael Austin (20) to overcome a 17-point halftime deficit.
2021 guard Jacob Montgomery poured in 39 points on 8 of 12 shooting from deep for Walkersville, which led 39-22 at the break. 2020 guard Chaz Egan posted 21 points and eight rebounds for the Lions.
SIDWELL FRIENDS (DC) 53, ST. ELIZABETH (DE) 49
2019 guard Jason Gibson had a game-high 27 points as the Quakers held off a late St. Elizabeth run.
2019 guard Jack Lewis finished with 11 points for Sidwell.
2019 guard Justin Money had 20 points for St. Elizabeth, while 2020 guard Nasir Brown added 13.
ST. CHARLES (MD) 67, CARAVEL (DE) 45
2020 guard Omar McGann scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Spartans overcame a six-and-a-half scoreless skid to open regulation.
Caravel, which was led by 2020 guard Kevin Kester (19 points, four steals), opened up a 10-0 lead with 1:30 left in the first quarter before St. Charles got on the board. From there, the Spartans outscored the Buccaneers 67-35.
2020 guard Darius Miles added 11 points and five rebounds for St. Charles.
ST. PETERS (NY) 67, SMYRNA (DE) 62
2020 forward Liam Murphy had 21 points to lead the Eagles as they held off a late rally.
2019 guard Chris Clancy had 17 points and 2019 forward Jamal Achille had 12 for St. Peter’s.
2020 guard Nahson Sylvester had a game-high 24 points for Smyrna, which also got 16 points from 2020 guard Isaiah Credle and 12 from 2019 forward Ron Jackson.
PATTERSON (MD) 82, OAKDALE (MD) 62
2019 guard Jalen Willis racked up 26 points and seven rebounds as the Clippers feasted in transition to down the reigning MPSSAA 2A West region champions.
2019 guard Collin Schlee paced Oakdale with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
2020 guard Zaccheus Blackwell registered a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Clippers, who used a decisive 20-2 in the first quarter to lead 46-25 at the break.
LIBERTY HEIGHTS (NC) 75, WINGS ACADEMY (NY) 65
2019 guard and Alabama commit Juwan Gary had a game-high 27 points to lead Liberty Heights over Wings Academy. He finished 11-of-19 from the field, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range.
2020 guard Kahari Rogers added 15 points for Liberty Heights.
2019 forward Marquel Jackson had 17 points for Wings, which got 16 from 2019 guard Tommy Thomas and 15 from 2019 guard Derrick Crothers.
ARCHBISHOP CARROLL (DC) 83, ST. GEORGES (DE) 50
2020 guard Cory Barnes had 22 points, six assists and five rebounds as the Lions cruised.
2019 guard Elijah Perkins-Cross added 13 points and six rebounds and 2020 center Tegra Izay came one bucket shy of a double-double (eight points, 11 rebounds).
2019 guard Nah’Shon Hyland paced the Hawks with 18 points, four rebounds, and three steals.
CENTRAL POINTE (FL) 72, VERITAS PREP (CA) 44
2019 guard Jeriel Zayas had 16 points to lead four Central Pointe players in double figures as they pulled away in the second half to close out Day 1 with a victory.
2020 forward Harry Sosa and 2020 guard Victor Rosa has 12 points apiece for Central Pointe while Jonathan Aybar added 10.
Mississippi State commit Iverson Molinar led Veritas with 9 points.

[GIRLS] WORCESTER PREP (MD) 61, THOMAS STONE (MD) 24
2019 center Gracie Gardner had 25 points to lead the Mallards to an easy win over the Cougars.
2019 guard Hailey Merritt added 14 points for Worcester Prep.
2020 guard Danya Smith led Thomas Stone with 12 points.

2019 guard Fiona Rowan had 18 points to lead three Lancers in double figures in a win.
2020 guard Taylor Ferguson added 13 points for Linganore, while 2019 forward Alexis Duda had 11.
2020 guard Leyanna Pettit had 21 points and 9 rebounds for Wicomico, while 2021 guard Jonysha Prucien had 13.
[GIRLS] KEMPSVILLE (VA) 66, GAITHERSBURG (MD) 45
2022 guard Cate Carlson had a game-high 26 points and 2020 guard Tahje Perkins added 14 to lead the Chiefs over the Trojans.
202 guard Jada Thornton had 19 points to lead Gaithersburg and 2019 guard Theresa Kumazah finished with 10.

2019 guard Aysia Jones had 24 points and 2020 forward Jaila Walton 17 to lead the Spartans over Parkside.
2022 guard Amanda Ballard had 19 points and 19 rebounds for Parkside, which also got 11 points from 2020 guard Stephanie Holmes.

2019 forward Julie Wallace had 14 points to lead the Lions to victory in Wednesday’s final game at UMES.
2021 guard Caroline Orza had 7 points to lead the Barons.

ARCADIA (VA) 55, WASHINGTON (MD) 46
2020 Lethon Williams tallied a monster double-double with 19 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Firebirds to victory.
2020 Kamron Downing had 13 points for Arcadia, which led 17-6 after one quarter
2021 guard Alden Horsey and 2020 forward Sherard Fells had 15 points apiece for Washington.
KEMPSVILLE (VA) 66, QUEENS ANNE’S (MD) 40
2021 guard Dominique Stanford had a game-high 25 points to lead the Chiefs to victory. 2019 forward Tyson Brown had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and 2021 guard Elijah White 14 for Kempsville.
2019 guard Nicholas Dunkerly had 17 points to lead Queen Anne’s.

2019 guard Latrell Thompson had a game-high 27 points as New Dorp cruised to victory.
2020 forward Xavier Rivers and 2019 guard Tyree Banks had 8 points apiece for the Jaguars.

2020 guard Shane Trimmier had 21 points and 2020 guard Bleron Lata added 19 to lead Wagner over the host Clippers.
Forward Antuan Armstrong and Guard SaQuan Cotton had 11 points apiece for JM Bennett, while Harold Morton added 10.

2020 guard Daniel Frink had 11 points and 2019 forward Tony Smith 10 to lead a balanced effort for Edmondson in a win over the Hoppers.
2021 guard Jordan Rayford led Georgetown Day with 13 points.

[GIRLS] KINGS CHRISTIAN (MD) 60, SNOW HILL (MD) 4
2020 Kayla Gray had 23 points, 2021 Alexis Smith 17 and 2019 Jamie Metcalf 10 as King’s Christian routed Snow Hill. KCA forced 52 turnovers.
2020 center Katie Dykes and 2022 forward Josie Burkhead had two points each for Snow Hill.

2019 forward Chris Christian had 22 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Eagles to victory.
2020 center Caleb Towns had 13 points and 10 rebounds and 2020 guard Justus Sewell added 11 points for King’s Christian.
Guard Joshua Lewis had a game-high 27 points for the Dragons, while forward Jared Vazquez had 14 points and 16 rebounds.

2020 guard Brandon Pilgrim scored 16 points to lead four Vikings in double figures in a balanced scoring effort.
2020 guard Tyriel Collins, 2019 guard Brycen Hill and 2020 center Winston Moore all added 13 points apiece for St. John’s Catholic Prep.
2019 guard Destin Gallop had a game-high 21 points for Overlea.

2019 forward Neco Campbell had 18 points and 2019 guard Husayn Mosely 11 to lead the Knights over the Rams.
2022 forward Taiwan Hardy led Parkside with 18 points, while 2020 guard Marcus Yarns finished with 13.
