After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to announce the return of our DMVelite All-State selections for Maryland.

This group is perennially the hardest to choose, as it represents our largest single area of coverage - the entire state of Maryland - and encompasses a wide range of extremely talented players.

Our staff would like to thank the players, coaches and fans who made the 2021-22 season – our 12th year of high school coverage – a success, and we look forward to many more. In addition to this All-MD team (which features only players from schools located in Maryland), we've rolled out our All-DC Team and will be releasing our All-Northern Virginia team.

And now, here’s our selection of the state’s best of the best – the 2022 DMVelite All-Maryland Team:

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: CAM WHITMORE, ARCHBISHOP SPALDING 2022 WING

The Villanova-bound McDonald’s All-American put together a dominating senior campaign, averaging 21.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game for the Cavaliers and earned his second straight Baltimore Catholic League Player Of the Year honor.

COACH OF THE YEAR: JOSH CZERSKI, PARKVILLE

Czerski guided the Knights to a 24-1 record that included their first  Baltimore County title since 1957 and their second straight Class 4A state semifinal berth. Parkville opened the year with 24 straight wins - by an average victory margin of 28 points - before falling two points short in the semis to eventual champ Eleanor Roosevelt.

Under Czerski, the Knights are 63-9 in their last three seasons with two state semifinal appearances, the first of which saw the playoffs ended by the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
