WASHINGTON – Since creating the Ivey 23 Terps organization in 2007, brothers Nate and Jonathan Blackmon have seen it develop into one of the area’s most consistent programs.

This year, though, they feel they may have their best group yet.

Ivey 23’s 17U team has already made some noise this spring, winning the gold bracket co-championship at the New England Playaz Tournament April 21-22, and finishing second out of 72 teams at the Hoop Group Philadelphia Jam Fest April 27-29.

PVI's Robinson Picks Indiana

By MARCUS HELTON

It took Stan Robinson one visit to Indiana University to decide that’s where he wanted to spend his college career.

The Paul VI 2013 guard announced his commitment to the Hoosiers via his Twitter page on Wednesday night, just days after visiting the Bloomington campus on Monday.

“The campus was humongous,” Robinson said Wednesday night. “Everything was beautiful up there. Coach [Tom] Crean, we connected very, very quickly. We shared a lot of laughs, he presented his plan of where he sees me fitting in and how I could play a part in it.”

That all changed three years ago, though, when Washington – who was coaching high school boys – began coaching the Future Players organization’s sixth grade team that included his daughter.
